Australian Bunker & Military Museum:

13/02/2007: A new Web Site has just been launched for the Australian Bunker and Military Museum. The address is: http://www.australianbunkermilitarymuseum.org/

This new Site replaces the former Australian Bunker Project Web Site (long since defunct) - and has the potential to develop into a major resource on the subject of Fortification in Australia.

It is "early days" at the moment - and some of the pages on the Site are not yet up and running. It is well designed and laid out - and the authors (who are serious Fortification researchers and enthusiasts) appear to have a wealth of well researched information - yet to be uploaded.

The Australian Bunker & Military Museum has been established as both a register of historically significant Military sites - and as a research organisation. SITE O Members with an interest in Australia's built Military heritage may therefore find it worthwhile exploring Membership of this organisation - as well.

My initial impression is that this is likely to be a Site that will evolve into one with a lot to offer. Time will tell. I wish the authors well in their endeavours, and would strongly suggest that Members bookmark the address and keep an eye on progress. What is there so far certainly looks promising!
