Year.
Gerry, UK Hi All, Just arrived back in Australia from a holiday in the USA. We caught DCs‘ show at the Orange County Performing Arts Centre (OCPAC). This show was unique in that it was the first time that David had performed with the backing of a full symphony orchestra. The depth that this backing gives is fantastic. It really brings the music to life. The audience was not typically your normal DC crowd. I would say a great portion was made up of older (over 60s‘) who I would guess are subscribers of the OCPAC, and as such DC really had to work to get the crowd going (which he did). I purchased tickets on the first day of sale and was in row 20. All the front row seats seem to be reserved for the "subscribers" and as such there was none of the usual hand touching etc, which was a real shame as this all adds to the feel of the show. David performed the majority of the show in a suit with tails, and he looked really good (no satin shiny shirts!). The show opened with Heartbeat, followed with (in no particular order) I Write The Songs, Cherish, I Woke Up In Love This Morning, Could It Be For Ever, Point Me In The Direction Of Albiquicue, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, I Saw Her Standing There, I Think I Love You, How Can I Be Sure, plus a few others that slipped my mind. It was a great show (seemed to be short), but maybe not one that was fully appreciated by the crowd that was present. A lot of the audience left as soon as the last song finished, not waiting for the encore. We need to somehow get him back downunder and get the promoters really promote him and get the people in to see the talent this guy has. Warren S.............. Hi, My name is Vanessa Morgan, and am a David Cassidy fan from Perth, WA. I was wanting to know if any other Downunder fan would have copies of David Concert Photos from the following states. I would like, If possible to buy copies of David's Brisbane Concert, and his Adelaide Concert, to add to my collection of Concert Photos. I only have copies of his Perth Concerts from last November, when he played here in Perth. If anyone is interested in selling me copies of their Concert Photos, from these two concerts, I would be very grateful, also could you please let me know how much you would be selling the copies for, could you please contact me via my email address which is: vanessa.morgan@intellect.com.au I look forward to hearing from you soon. Warmest Regards This is just a "testing of the waters" so to speak. Would any David Cassidy fans be interested in getting together for a meet somewhere in Brisbane in April 2004 to coincide with David's birthday?
If you have any thoughts on this would you please leave a message.
Im sitting at the computer and my husband just asked me who I was looking at and I said "David Cassidy" he said "who", I said "He was in the Partridge Family back in the 70's" , and he says "Well I don't know who he is I was only born in the 70's" and I said, "You don't have to be old to know who David Cassidy is (I am 8 years older than hubby)", so I am now going to give him a David run down and lesson on his music (lucky me!!!) Noeleen, Australia

To Maree (Dec 1, 2002) Helen hi I'm another avid David C. fan I live on the central coast in NSW. I was wondering if there happens to be any one out there who was lucky to go to Davids Randwick concert all those years ago as well as go to his recent Newcastle Concert I would love to hear from you and what you actually thought of the concert. Thanks Hey guys.... I've seen the slow ticket sales and really thought that David wouldn't be appearing. I too have waited 28years for this and certainly wasn't going to miss him now. I was lucky enough to see him in FX in Vegas in 1998 and he was great... very energetic and his voice is still great. Have bought a few of his CD's over time and have been playing his THEN and NOW continually. Roll on next Saturday night... I can go back to an easier time in life (I was 14 and now have a 14 year old girl... wish there was a David Cassidy around for her to love and cherish... life for us certainly didn't seem as hard). I look forward to meeting with all the other die hard fans. Rock On David! Regards Howdy fans Jen from Adelaide again!! Was just thinking, after hearing about some radio personality on the radio casting David as a 70's has been, wouldn't it be great if they released more of his stuff than JUST the then and now album for airplay to whip people into a frenzy and let people other than his already strong fan fellowship know that he didn't keel over and die back in the 70's but has been alive and well and really excelling at his crafts!!!!! I have done what I can to educate my family, friends and their children but other than that how can we assist to educate the media and others in this area?? Any other ideas??? Go David!!!!! All the best again. 24 August 2002 Can't wait for November. Have already booked my holidays around the event!! I missed the first concert but there is no way short of death I will miss this one! My family have been teasing me mercilessly but they all know how important this concert is to me and how long I have waited for an opportunity to see David in action. I think if I had gone to the first one I would have missed something as all I would have heard was a lot of people screaming!! Satisfying 28yrs of expectations is an impossible achievement for anyone, so I look forward to just experiencing this concert and enjoying the moment!!!! I may even make an I love David Cassidy banner just for the heck of it My sister will be joining me! but I feel she will be disappointed as she went to the first concert (8mths pregnant at the time!) and will feel compelled to compare the experience where I will only be experiencing it for the first time and judging it by the joy and memories it will provide me with in my old age!!!! I hope one day to see him in a play I feel that would be really cool and would have loved to have seen Blood Brothers come to Adelaide with both Cassidy brothers in it for the true experience. Best wishes to all other fans. Jen from Adelaide Submit your message to : davidcassidydownunderfansite@gmail.com |
