The Southland branch of New Zealand's largest conservation organisation runs a programme of local trips and talks, manages a penguin reserve and a lodge in the bush and gives members a chance to get involved with conservation activities. Members also get a full colour nature magazine and a local newsletter.
Forest and Bird also runs a children's conservation club called KCC (Kiwi Conservation Club) with a magazine and activities and gets involved with many conservation issues.
