I live in Wellington, New Zealand, with my wife, Klára, and our two children, Zsófi, and Gábor. I work for IBM in the Human Resources department.
Although we were all born in New Zealand, we have a strong Hungarian connection. Klára has Hungarian parents and I am a New Zealander of solid Anglo-Saxon stock; so our children share these two backgrounds. We have always tried to ensure our lives and especially those of the children share and celebrate their heritage. So we have lived most of lives in New Zealand, but have also lived in Hungary, once from 1997-1998 and again in 2001. Both times we lived in Vác,a small town on the banks of the Danube, near Budapest. Much of what you see and read on these pages relates to the times we spent in Hungary.
You can check out some of our family photos, many of which were taken when we lived in Hungary.
In addition I have also written various articles, mostly for the local Hungarian bulletin here in New Zealand, the Magyar Szó.

When Gábor was in standard 4 (Year 6) he did a web-based project on the toucan bird. He is rightly proud of his efforts.
You may stumbled across this page when looking for the other Paul Hellyer - the Canadian politician who writes about the impact of globalisation. He seems to have a lot of worthwhile ideas and you can find out more about these out at the Canadian Action Party web site.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. -- Mark Twain
