AIM to write out your chosen Bible verse first

 

NUMBER OF PLAYERS 2 or more

 

NEEDED card, pen, ruler, scissors, rubber bands, pencils, bag or box

 

WHAT TO DO

 

1. Make Instructions Pack by cutting 17 cards size 7 x 5 cm and

writing out the following instructions on them, one instruction to a card -

Miss this turn    Write in any vowel once    

 

Write in "t"

Write in "b" or "s"   

Write in "c", "d" or "f"   

Write in "g"

Write in "h" or "j"   

Write in "k", "l" or "m"   

Write in "q"

Write in "n" or "r"    

Write in "p", "v" or "w"    

Write in "x"

Write in "y" or "z"    

Write in "TAKE A LETTERS CARD" on three cards

Leave 3 cards blank

Form cards into a Pack and secure using rubber bands.

 

2. Make Bible Verse Cards by choosing short Bible Verses with the same number of letters in, excluding the references, then writing out these verses on cards, one verse to a card, leaving room underneath for players to copy letters. Write references in without leaving room for missing letters. Some examples of verses with 20 letters in -

 

Jesus has made God known. John 1 : 18

Do what He tells you to do. John 2 : 5

Jesus tells us the truth. John 8 : 45

Moses wrote about Jesus. John 5 : 46

 

3. Make Letters Pack by cutting 13 cards 6 x 5 cm and writing the following on them -

a, e, i, o, u - make 1

b, x, m, l, t - make 2

c, w, n, v, f - make 2

d, z, p, g, j - make 2

h, k, q, r, s - make 2

Make 4 of "Write in any letter you like"

Form into a Pack and secure using rubber bands.

 

Verse Cards, Letters Pack and playing instructions inside.

 

HOW TO PLAY

1. Shuffle the Instructions Cards Pack and place face down on

playing area.

2. Shuffle Letters Pack and place face down on playing area near

the other Pack.

3. Give players a Bible Verse Card each, or let them choose, plus a

pencil.

4. Players have turns to lift the top card of the Instructions Pack and write the consonants only once (if that is the card showing (onto their Bible Verse Card OR take a Letters Card from the top of that Pack if the instruction is to do that. If the card is a blank, player misses this turn. Once player has followed instructions, he/she places Instruction Card at bottom of Pack, and Letters Card at bottom of Pack if one has been taken, and turn is over.

5. The first player to write out all the Bible Verse on their Card wins.

6. Players read out their Bible verses to each other.
