AIM to place the last missing vowel

 

NUMBER OF PLAYERS 2 or more

 

NEEDED card, pen, ruler, scissors, dice, a small container, bag or box

 

HOW TO MAKE

1. To make a Guide, write the verse with its reference out on card

and cut out.

 

2. To make the Verse Card, write out the verse in large letters on card, leaving out the vowels but with enough space for players to put small squares of card with the vowels written on. Write the reference beside the verse without leaving out the vowels.

i.e. G_d s__d t_ J_r_m__h, Y__ w_ll ..........

 

3. To make Vowel Cards, cut 32 pieces of card small enough to fit into the spaces, and write the missing vowels on these, one vowel to each card, as follows - 5 - a, 11 - e, 7 - i, 4 - o and 5 - u.

 

 

4. Make a Key by writing out the following on card then cutting out -

KEY

1 = a

2 = e

3 = i

4 = o

5 = u

6 = no turn

 

HOW TO PLAY

1. Place the Guide where all the players can see it.

2. Place the Verse Card on playing area where all

the players can reach it.

3. Place the Vowel Cards in a container without a lid and where

players can reach them.

4. Players have turns to toss the dice. When a vowel shows, player

refers to Key then picks a card showing this vowel out of the container and places it where it belongs on the

cards where the verse is written out, then turn is over.

5. If dice indicates a vowel which has been used up, turn is over.

6. If dice shows the six, turn is over.

7. The player who places the last vowel wins the game.

8. Players read the verse and its reference together out loud.
