Cronin family of Boherbue
One of my ancestors CRONIN, Julia married a Mulcahy, Denis in
Boherue approx. 1833-4.
They had Denis In May 1834-baptised in Immaculate Conception
church, Boherbue......according to FHC films and also Casey films
They also had son John baptised in 1835 in same church.
I "think" Julia may have come from Meentyflugh or Ballyhooly, not far from Mallow.
The above son, Denis, later married RING, Margaret approx. 1857
in same church but unable to get copy of certificate, despite letters ,
and donation.
They had a son Denis baptised (same Church 1862, while living in
Kanturk . Also 2 daughters, Hanora (1859) and Margaret (1860)
Hanora married a John sullivan- not known if in Ireland or in USA.
The brother and sister ( Denis and Hanora) immigrated to USA in 1886.
Denis brought his wife Nora CRONIN...I suspect they married shortly
before leaving for NYC ( 1886) fom Queenstown(?).
We think it is possible that the Timothy Cronin mentions on several
sites may be brother to this Nora.
Denis,Mulcahy Nora (Cronin) and his Mother, Margaret (Ring) Mulcahy moved W to California in 1900, and resided in San Francisco area. 1890-1924. While sister remained in NYC.
They had 11 children. ( 1888-1918)
We have no info as to what happened to 1st Denis brother John,, presume he stayed in Kanturk/Boherbue area.
No death record/certificate for Margaret (Ring) Mulcahy, lost because
of the earthquake, in 1906.
Looking for any connection to either Julia, GGGgrandmother at this
point in time, probably died in Ireland, as did husband Denis in 1884.
Looking for any information on either Cronin name......
Nora (Hanora) or Julia Cronin.
