ORDERS
The works that have been illustrated in these site
are available through making an order and waiting for the work to be
executed in line with existing orders. No research or designing time have
been included in the stated prices. That means the work is available to
someone else; still as a unique work in a limited edition through copying
by hand. (hand-held machines versus machine copying)

COMMISSIONS
If you want the only copy, then you give me a
commission. The starting point could be an existing work, and wanting a
variation. This job also would stand in line of orders received. The extra
time (research and carving) involved would be charged.
For a non-personal subject for which you don't want
sole rights, commission is possible at a reduced research rate.
When the time comes to start carving your commission
a deposit of 20% will be charged. Should you cancel the order later
or not pay the balance when ready, this deposit is returned when the work
is sold to someone else. (this could take years)

BIRD SCULPTURES
The photographs of the carved birds illustrate
various species shown in characteristic poses. As each order is received I
commence carving to produce a work which follows closely the chosen
photographic sample. Each work will be unique - there will be some slight
variations as in any work of art made by hand and not by machine.
The different surface options which include
painting, staining, oiling or sanding can be discussed over the internet
at the time of ordering.
It would become a commission if you wanted a
different pose or a different bird or a different medium. (say out of wood
instead of plywood)

| CARVINGS
The images shown here illustrate a variety of design sources;
Maori, Celtic and European. Any of these images can be ordered, but the
waiting time cannot be guaranteed. Any of these images can be the
departure point for commissioned work. If you liked my celtic series, but
wanted exclusive rights, you could commission the next work still in my
head with title "Our Celtic heritage V". Or if you liked
"Our New Zealand Heritage I" you can commission "Our New
Zealand Heritage II". If relief carving and landscapes is what you
like, then you could provide some favorite photographs for me to chose the
best for adapting. Or if portraits is what you like, send a photo of faces
side on. (There is an example of this discussed in print boxes.) |
| |
| WORKS ON PAPER
Woodcuts, Black and white or sepia photographs, computer prints.
As the woodcuts on offer are each printed by hand - then they are
classified as artist's proofs - each having some slight variation in tone.
The photographic and computer images however are multiples - this
is reflected in their price structure. The computer prints reduce in price
with quantity; 1 to 5 different prints, $10 each; 6 to 10, $ 9 each, there
after by negotiation. |

| COLOUR MATCHING
Photographs on the website may differ in colour from the original
work. There will always be natural variations in the colour of timber and
this will effect oiled or stained surfaces. Painted birds will be as close
as possible matched by eye in colour to the sample shown.

| ORDER FORM
There is no order form. You send me an e-mail of what you would
like, giving the title, page description, and model number if there is
one. I then come back to you with the proposed delivery date, overseas
exchange and bank fees, packing/ postage charge and any questions that
need answering. You answer back if you are still interested. There may be
some to and fro but your last answer becomes the order. If there is long
wait I inform you when I am about to start, so you can send your cheque in
time for clearance before the dispatch date. Delivery will be by courier
or post within New Zealand, by post outside NZ.

| GOODS AND SERVICE TAX
This is 12.5% in New Zealand. It has not been added as my income
is below the mandatory amount when it becomes compulsory and I expect this
to remain in the immediate future. |
