Merry Christmas 99 & Happy New Year 2000

Whewh! It’s hard to believe it’s already the holiday season. This year has really flown by! A lot has changed, but our love and appreciation for you, our dear friends and family, is one thing that remains constant. We are thankful for this special season of love that helps us stop and remember those things of most importance. It’s a joy to celebrate the Saviour’s birth, His light and love for the world.

Our family has grown in size and love with the addition of Elizen Clark in June. Eli is a real cutie and he patiently accepts the love of his brother in all its many forms.

Kaden is in the midst of the terrific two’s and we’re enjoying his adventures. He loves trains and bikes (just like his grandpa) and loves to draw. Mom and Dad can’t pick up a pen without a definitive, "my turn." He’s good at singing and entertains us with his fun sense of humour.

Lyndi is taking a bit of a break now that summer’s nearly here. She’s looking forward to warmer weather and lots of time at the beach. She’s glad to be finished with university for the year and probably even passed! The boys keep her hopping and shopping and the young women at church continue to fill her "free" time. In between all the other activities this year she found time to take a scuba diving course. Never a dull moment!

Ganesh really enjoys his job with Phillips Fox lawyers. He started out doing year 2000 compliance and has branched into other areas of technical support. He’s still on the high council at church and is busier than ever with the addition of yoga and golf to his list of hobbies.

Our travels this year were limited to a quick trip to Sydney in August to see Ganesh’s dad. It was wonderful for the boys to finally meet their grandfather and seeing the sights of Sydney was an added bonus.

For the turn of the century we wish for you

The very best of old and new.

May this coming year see your dreams come true

And lots of success in whatever you do.

Each day of the year, the whole year through

Remember the Cherians’ love for you!

Aroha Nui,

The Cherian Family

MAY 99

Come on in. The weather’s getting cold, so you’ll probably want a hot drink. Would you like a milo (kinda like a hot chocolate)? Have a seat. What’s new? What have you been up to? Here’s the latest with us…

Ganesh is working (HURRAY!) at a law firm doing Y2K compliance work. The job’s scheduled to end in a few weeks though. Then… ??? He’s hoping to have some spare time to work on getting the business up and running. Look out for web-footed helping small businesses get noticed on the web. Ganesh is also busy with tutoring his weekly computer class. He’s a great teacher and is really enjoying it. In his spare time (yah right) he’s busy working on plans for retiring. We’re not too sure what he’s retiring from, but he hopes to do it in the near future.

Lyndi is breathing a huge sigh of relief now that Girl’s Camp is finally over. It left her with a cold she’s still trying to shake, but other than that it went pretty well. Right after camp she completed her first graduate essay. Keep your fingers crossed for the upcoming grade??? She’s still keeping busy with the class and with all of Kaden’s activities. She’s also gearing up for the arrival of baby bop. We still can’t agree on a name for our forthcoming son, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Kaden’s learning new words all the time. His latest is "backpack." He’s now able to tell the difference between mommy and daddy (He used to call both of us mommy). He loves horses "neigh" and bikes. He’s also a transportation expert, identifying every bus, plane, or truck he sees.

We’re planning on travelling to the States in August. We’ll keep ya posted about our travel plans. It would be great to see all of you. We had hoped to go to Australia this year, but that will have to wait, as will our trek through India. Maybe next year…

That’s our news for now. We’ll let you know when our new arrival gets here. Until then, remember that we love you and we’re thinking of you even though we’re so far away.

Love,

The Cherian clan

MERRY CHRISTMAS 98

from the

Cherian Family

Greetings everyone! Happy Holidays!

This year has been an interesting one for our family. A highlight included a trip to the states for Lyndi’s family reunion in Alberta with a fun stop in Montana. On the way back home we had a bit of a holiday in Rarotonga -for those of you who don’t know, it’s a tropical island in the Pacific. When we got back it took some time to settle in and readjust to "real life" after being away for two months.

In June, Ganesh finally finished his two degrees of glory and there was much rejoicing in the land! After a month of unemployment, we decided eating was better than starving, so he took a temporary job at DB Breweries. He’s learning a lot there and still looking for a more permanent and morally agreeable job in the mean time. The stake high council and serving as the stake mission president are still keeping him on the run. In addition, he’s been especially busy this year working on his book. He’s anxious for all of you to read it and give him feedback, so he’s made a home page for you to visit and have a look. The address is http://members.xoom.com/glkcherian We’ve got pictures of our family and lots of other bits and pieces, so please come and have a look. We know it’s a long way for most of you to travel to our home, so we’ve tried to make it a bit easier for you to visit us via the internet.

Lyndi’s plate for next year is looking pretty full. She’ll be teaching a class at Institute and her new calling as the stake young women president promises to be a challenge. Also, she’ll be expanding her current job description (as well as the rest of her) with the addition of another member of the Cherian clan in early June. In the midst of all this she’s she’ll be (hopefully) starting her masters by correspondence. It will be a long, slow road, but she’s excited to make a start.

Kaden’s been keeping us on the run. He loves music and we’re continually entertained by his musical talents which include singing, drumming (one of his favourites), helping dad play the guitar, and an occasional piano concerto. We enjoy him so much!

We hope the season brings lots of love and laughter into your home and that you may feel the love of the one who’s birth we rejoice in at this wonderful time of year. Our hearts are full of thanksgiving for your friendship. We count the memories and love we share as the best of our Christmas gifts.

All our love,

Ganesh, Lyndi, and Kaden
