Kemenkat Abyssinians

AboutUs

My name is Gail Warwick and I fell in love with the Abyssinian when I came across a photo in a book when I was about 11 years old.  Sadly, I was very allergic to cats as a child so wasn't allowed to have one but, over time, my allergy lessened and in January 1980 I became the proud owner of my first cat, a Ruddy Abyssinian neuter by the name of Gambela Niklaas.  Kes (his pet name) lived to be almost twenty and left me totally hooked on Abyssinians.  He is much missed.

I share my home with my husband, Jac, our two teenagers (Rachel and Josh), and the cats. After more than 20 years of Aby owning we decided to breed, on the theory that there are not enough Abys in the world.  Our cats are part of our family first and breeding cats second. The girls and their kittens live inside with us and have access to outdoor runs for exercise on fine days. The studs have their own runs next to the house where they enjoy plenty of attention and the company of the girls.

15th September 2006: We have added a new breed to our household with the arrival of Abyrose Akita, a tawny Ocicat. See the About Ocicat page for details.
