w Maragaret w ElizabethAdam is my Ancestor is father was one of the orginal brothers and founder of
the Mullaghbrack branch of the family.
He made a will in 1699 as follows.
In the name of God Amen, I Adam Beck of Bellimacally, Mullabrack being well
advance in years and not Kowing how soon it may please to God to call upon me
of this live which i hope, in his blessed mercy will be a better one. I do make
this my later will and testement. I committ my Soul to God from whom I live and
have being and body to be buried decent in the Parish yard near my father's
grave. I leave to my son Robert My Freehold ...... messuage comp.....ment, my
stock of cattle and half my wool in stock. I leave to my wife Margaret my
wooven loom and a large cubbert in the loft on screwators which was my father's
cubbet and half the wool in stock and puter dishes. I leave to Alex Watt oak
chest and scarf and release him of bond due me of five pounds more or less . I
revoke other testmends and publish this... my wife sole exector and reqest my
brother John Beck of Lisburn to be overseer and settle my just detbs.
In witness I have set my hand and seal this day 14th March 1699.
The Mullabrack pARISH RETURNS ARE COMPLETE FROM 1804. the census OF 1821
show s five families of this branch of the family living in townlands of
Belimacally, Mecantrim, Corry, Rocknacreevy, Drumblack Drummorgan,and
Hamiltonsbawn. latter families moved to Belfast and Stirlingshire
Father John of O'Niel John Beck Of Lisburn, a most important member of
contemporyand earilier generations. He was born in Mullaghbrack about 1650
brother of Adam of Mullaghbrack, adopted a commercial career, became a
prosperoues linen -mechant in Lisburn where he lived untill 1711 when he
purchased an estate of 656 acres at Anncloy near Downpatrick where he dead in
17 April 1722.
Different records show him with different wives both Elizabeth, one from Dublin
Elizabeth Streettell and the other Elizabeth Robinson who records show he
married on 4/11 1698 at Quaker Lucern Metting House. From John Will pionts to StreettellJohn left in his will dated 25th July 1718 NA Reference T/2709 Document ID: 4865
left to his four sons, Robert Thomas, Samuel and John.
Robert brought land in the Parish of Annaclone, his decendants have lived in
Clay, Brague, and Tarnvalley, Thomas is found at Donacloney
