Archive 19 May 2007 www.maverickracing.co.nz Note: We have a new website address. Much easier to remember! So, update all your links as I know you have us in your favourites. :-P I am having a few teething issues with the new camera we purchased. We have to read the instructions at some stage as the software it uses is different than our old one and the photo's seem to overtake the website. So I will try and rectify that in the next month or so. There has been a couple of meetings since our last update, so i will give a quick run down of how the meetings went, then will let you know where we are heading. Renee 51ox Youth Hobbie Saloon Two meetings ago was the Oxford South Island Title. this was run over 3 heats and Renee managed to come home with a 4th, 2nd (?) and a first. The racing was so close amongst the youth drivers, that it turned out to be a run off for 1st 2nd and 3rd. The first attempt at a runoff - Renee had drawn position 3 so started off the back - Renee got a good jump on the other two girls, but unfortunately Tania put herself in the ditch, the ref's calling a restart (?????? but that's the call so go with it). The 2nd restart, Renee had a heavy foot and they came out of turn 4 3 wide - can't do that girlie, so a talking to by the ref, and the 3rd and final restart got started. Not a good start this time so she ended up coming home in third. A pretty good result. Last meeting? well can't really tell you much on that one as I was racing round like a chook with no head with May and her car. The car came home in one piece which was good, apart from contact made by another car (Craig was running her car in Adult hobbies also to keep his points going - oh it was double points as well so any points helped) May 55ox Youth Ministock Oxford South Island Title? Well another meeting that went pear shaped. May managed only one race, as it was pointed out after finishing at the rear of the field and coming back in, that her engine mounts were shot. The engine wasn't exactly straight, and with no spare mounts we couldn't do a quick change. So she called it for the day, knowing that was her only engine and didn't want to do any damage. Last meeting? The ministock was given a bit of shock treatment. Oil and filter/coil resistor/leads...thanks to Fuffy's Roof Coatings....Managed to get 3 races in, but after her first and my first race it was found that the gearbox seal was shot, and was leaking oil everywhere. After bugger all racing the previous meeting May decided to run her other two races anyway. Finishing mid to rear of the field. Mike 33c Stockcar/55ox Adult Ministock Well, Oxford South Island Title I didn't race, due to the fact its Mays car, and its better hat at least one of us gets to compete and finish all the races without the other ruining it for them. Didn't quite go to plan but never mind. Last meeting, I managed to get one race in. Was a bit of a shocker really as I had no acceleration..well maybe 2/3. When I came back in (after finishing last...give or take a couple of positions as i think there were a couple of dnf cars out there)it was found that we needed to do a little tweaking to enable the carby to go to full acceleration. This will probably be my last race as May has her Youth title next meeting and then the car is (supposedly) off the track for a couple of months getting ready for the glen. So, not to much there apart from Renee's 3rd placing, but then that's racing, and its highlighted the need for a bit more maintenance on the ministock and the need for some spares. What's on the horizon? Well the new website address has been one move forward. A minor fairly inconsequential one but one all the same. The stockie?????? Well hopefully in the next couple of days, the firewall will be measured up and the bumpers will be porta powered forward, to rectify an earlier mistake of mine. Race car musical chairs will be occurring soon also with Jackie's saloon making its way over to our garage and the stockie moving in to her and Craig's garage. The much required availability of a welder is there so we will hit that hard in about a month to try and make that opening meeting at the Glen...Practices if possible...No pressure Craig lol. Only about 15ish weeks 'til practices!! Hope everyone else's off seasons are going well, might pop up to the Kaikoura Queens birthday weekend meet on the sunday for a look, as it is always entertaining up there.
So 'til next time, have fun! 18 February 2007 A belated update.......Talk about hot. Renee 51ox Youth Hobbie Saloon...... Two races today for Renee. The car was all sign written (was actually done for Jan meeting but no report for that one so we'll bypass it). Race one......... looked like a cracker (from what I saw). Renee is starting to leave her braking later and later in the straights, so is carrying her speed a bit further and giving her that extra pace to get through the corners. She had a good battle with Midge Jackson, Midge though, came out on top winning by a bumper. Race Two....... well not a good result, but by all accounts a perfect streetstock/stockcar maneuver. (Hepi 91c stockcar is worried that he might lose his drive or maybe she can take over the cow car? lol). From Renee's perspective the car she drove through, was a bit loose, and ended up coming across her line....Whats a girl to do???? It was either brake like you know what, and get rearended or drive on through. She drove on through. This didn't go down well with the ref. A black flag for 51ox!! From the ref's perspective, if she'd buttoned off just a bit and let the other car regain its line she would have got away with it. Never mind. I didn't get a count of the cars in the grade today, but I vaguely remember there being an extra 2 or 3 cars, making the total about 7, which is great for the kids, as they have a bit more competition now. May 55ox (c?)Youth Ministock...... Mays car was all sign written also. This was her first meeting back after her southern trip (which we're still awaiting a report, but I suspect it ain't coming anytime soon). Two races also for May. Race one..... Starting from position 9 you could tell that she was a bit nervous. We had changed a few things in the car also (a bit difficult when she wasn't around, good thing Renee is the same size, so at least positioning was about right), so there was a bit of adjusting to do. She had a bit of a loose race, and had a tangle with another car which really got up her nose, and eventually brought the car home in 12th out of 14 cars. Race two..... Starting from pole it all started well, but was soon to go pear shaped. May had made a good start but seemed to lose it coming out of turn 2. Being at the front, this wasn't a good place to loose it. She was hammered around a bit and came to a stop, bringing on the red light as the car wouldn't restart. So a DNF for May. She was pushed back in to the pits where we found that the battery had been knocked enough to puncture the foam on top and the battery terminal arked out on the box lid. Not a great place to finish, but an easy fix. (Thanks to Beaurepaires Sydenham again for the sponsoring of our tyres, although we did not need to use any spares this meeting we were able to lend Shannon 37ox/t a spare so he had better traction. And the good thing was he brought it back in one piece, seeing as Chris had only put the new tyres on the rims that week, it was much appreciated) Mike 55 Adult Ministock..... I was in May's car again, and was lucky (if you can call it that, to get the first race, with the newly sign written/painted/adjusted ministock). Ten cars in the adult grade today. Race one..... Started on pole, now my memory is fuzzy....I think we had a rolling start in one of our races, but can't remember.....so...who knows lol. I have an issue with the starts, I'm a bit taller than May, and am having a slight issue with reaching the gear stick to get a good clean change...something to change at some stage....The race was uneventful, with me slipping backwards and bringing the car home in 6th. Race two..... Started in position 7 or is it 8?...Made a great start in this one. Managed to make my way to the front of the pack by turn 2. I had decided to take a different line than most. Most of the guys took the high line, I took the pole. Was a good idea in theory. The high line was dry, the pole was dry.....ish. Not dry enough though. Turn 3 came up and here was a not quite so dry spot. in to turn 3 facing one way, turn 3 1/2 facing another way, turn 4 facing the right way. At least I know if I keep my foot up it, the car comes round quite nicely. So from 1st to I think 4th in the space of 1 turn. Oh well never mind. So, a day that was pretty damn hot was an okish day. We didn't get 3 races in, as there were issues with the water truck (was a real struggle for us ministock guys, as we seemed to be the ones stuck on dummy grid, when things were going pear shaped). But that's the way it goes. I had noticed that the ministock was running a bit rough during the day, as it wouldn't idle after being revved, so that is about the only thing that needed fixing from the day. That is off to be sorted tomorrow, so we should be all sweet for next weekends Adult Ministock challenge at Oxford. a full on weekend at that, as it is also the Battle of the Stocks at the Glen. 3 days of racing....yippee...pus a full day of work on the Saturday...eeeek. Will get some photos of the cars with all the signage and paint job for our next update. So 'til next time enjoy your racing. PS...Just like to say well done to Craig Corson for taking out the Adult Hobbie Challenge. He was the fella that took the ministock down south for May, so it was good to see a good result for him.
Best wishes from the Maverick Racing Team.
Race update for 26 November (Why can I not keep the layout the same?? lol) I am a little late with this update as, we have since had the fun day at Oxford. First things first though, I will fill in the report, as it come in from the drivers. Fun day report will be done later in the week. Renee 51ox Hobbie SaloonRace 1 went well apart from it being very wet. I span out in turn 1 but I came 2nd I couldn't find the dry line Race 2 was better I came first Race 3 I came 3rd I think May
55ox Youth Ministock Mike 33c Stockcar (I'm obviously not important as I'm not in bold) Go figure I did not race, just sat on the side line trying to coax both the girls on to different lines as they kept driving through the wet stuff. Very trying stuff for Uncle and I!! I will give a heads up on the later in the week report....I broke one of the girls cars, whoops. hehe Til later in the week, hope everyone is enjoying their seasons.
21st-22nd October Nth Canty Champs Again only one racing this weekend....... Renee 51ox Youth Hobby: Race up date I got to race both days on the 21 and the 22nd of October. (Only four cars for the youth hobbies, so we did not qualify for a champs :-( ) They did however receive a plaque each from the club, which was a good offering to the boys and girls Day 1 I was left by myself so I had to do everything without uncle (working) or big bro (being groomsman at his sponsors wedding :-P ) around went well I got first in the first race and I got the checked flag this time lol (where's the photo !!! lol). The second race didn't go well something went wrong with the radiator (it got hot). So that was me for the day. Day 2 My uncle and I fixed the radiator (he did most of the work) we had to wait for a while to race because the weather wasn't to flash. EDITED version..... We did finally get to race but for various reasons I didn't have a good run. The second race didn't happen as the rain came back again, so the day was called. May 55ox Youth Ministock Didn't race again this meeting due to crash from August, but in the last week has been given clearence to race again at the next meeting. So plenty to do as a few issues have been found with the car, so best to get them sorted before it hits the track again. Mike 33c Stockcar Well thats what I've registered under, but think Dave Mollard still has his mits on it at the moment even though he's moved to Palmy Nth. Then again will probably be pushing to have the car on the track within this season anyway, so next season it should all blend together. Still picking away at the parts list, and looking at rectifying the bumper booboo I made not this weekend but next. Then its time to really sort out the engine mounting. Went to Nelson with the Blyth Racing Team week before last. Not a great weekend racing wise, check it out at: http://www.blythracingteam.co.nz/ But a good trip away none the less, as I had not made it to the Nelson track before (even though I lived there for a year). Again not a great night of racing for Blyth Racing Team again last weekend, but fingers crossed Blaine can keep cool (ilterally!!) this weekend coming and Hepi can keep all four wheels conected and turning lol. Canterbury Champs time for the Glen Superstock boys. Well 'til next update, which should only be 2-3 weeks away...Remember, its a hobby not a proffession (though some would disagree due to the $$$ they put into their HOBBY!!), take it to seriously and you should consider your options......Have fun, stay safe!!
16 September 2006 Race day
Renee: 51ox Youth Hobby.......(Written by herself...finally a report done by the driver lol) The car was fixed after the last race meeting (a slight coming together of a few wee fwd's...making a ford laser sammy). The race meeting went ok it could have been better but it was ok. I got 2 3rds and a 2nd going faster round the corners now. The track was a bit dry. The car runs better if there a bit of water on the track. Might be doing the North Canterbury Champs at Oxford Speedway if there are enough cars out there. There might also be a few people coming form Westport to do the champs in the youth hobby grade and if they do I might have to make my way over there to give there track a go. I got to put the car on the trailer for the first time and I'm not like may and launch the car lol and the car over cooked it self (Big bro's comments on that one are....someone got a bit stressed because everyone was watching.....waiting to see if she could beat her sisters efforts and launch the car off the trailer. Next time she'll do fine, so not to worry Renee, it takes a few goes to get the knack). Thanks to my sponsors EBS Motorsport and Beaurepaires Sydenham (thanks for fixing my puncture Chris) May.......55ox Youth Ministock.....No report, but then not racing. May had a ride home in the ambulance after the last (August) meeting. She managed to smack her knee on her dash, causing her a bit of pain. there has since been some confusion as to wether or not she blacked out, so......until she has managed to have a few more tests, she cannot get a clearance to race...(not a happy camper, but she is only a young whipper snapper, so health definitely comes first). Mike...No number Stockie....Well after much deliberation, and an observation that the money tree had not grown, the decision has been made to slowly progress to completion the stockie. Therefore my Saturday nights are were free....but, I have been helping out in the Blythe Racing Team barn, so will be helping them out this season (grimace grimace <---thats because I'm not racing, not because I'm helping Blythe Racing Team, beter clear that one up before I arrive inthe barn next lol). READY FOR NEXT SEASON I TELL YOU!!! 25 July 2006 (Helps if you put the right year in hehe...correction made) Well another weekend of racing been and gone. Renee...had a slight problem at the start of the day. Running rough and backfiring, Before she had even taken the car through for scruiteneering. Ended up being the dizzy. Uncle pulled it apart and it looked like it had, had a bath and forgot to dry off. So that was sorted and she ended up having a day of seconds. The grade is still relatively small, only 3 or 4 cars but she still managed to have some good close racing with Midge in the #4 car. The other young fella in the grade (sorry can't remember his name) managed to roll, and I have to give the two girls credit...they both were stopped before the ref even had a chance to put out the red flag...well done girls, if only all the other grades reacted that fast....Thanks go to EBS Towing / Beaurepaires and Uncle. Renee's Sponsors May...well. She has had an eventful few days. Made one of the local newspapers last week and managed an interview and some air time on TV3 this weekend. By all accounts she came across as her confident self, just a shame her sponsors weren't recognised (we're working on that). As for her racing, her first race which also happened to be the race the Tv man was filming she managed a 2nd placing. Which is her best result, and as could be seen by the footage she was really stoked with that effort. Race two didn't turn out to be a goody. She ended up being involved in someone else's incident which put her out for the day .....Thanks go to Kiwi Monograms and Beaurepaires. May's Sponsors Me....I had ago in May's ministock in the first adults race. Now I have to admit, I've never been to fussed on watching these guys race as they just seem to buzz around the track, but after my run I can see why the guys enjoy them. I had put on the sign in sheet that I wanted to be off the back of the grid, as I wasn't keen on being in the thick of it and doing any damage to May's car (when she gets in a mood it ain't good believe me), but I managed to find myself second row right behind pole. Standing start, first time for one of those to. Away we went, lap 2 turn 4 I ended up piling in to a couple of other cars that had turned round, thought I might have actually beached myself, but nope away we went again. Rest of the race was uneventful until about 2nd to last lap. Again turn 4 (just about all my chaos on that track has been turn 4 lol). Came round the corner, again to find a few cars heading in the right direction, just the wrong way....held my breath and tried to go round the outside.....It didn't quite work. Managed to clip the RR corner of the 37 car (which was probably the worst car to hit as it's Renees' boyfriends car, which was being driven by his old man)..did a bit of damage. But by all accounts Shannon had it out for rc 3 of the youth and it still handled well. ohh and put a bit of a bend in May's front bumper, which she wasn't to concerned about....makes it look like the bumper on the front of the stock car now lol. So that was my first and last go for the day in a ministock. Looking forward to the next meeting and have a few more runs as they handle really well (and the stockie still won't be ready), so a credit to May and Andrew for the rebuild they have done on it. 16 July 2006 Well......Stockcar news? No changes...(^$#^& *^%*( &% ). Very slow progress, but its not a great concern. I'll make it out when its ready. Another couple of mates have their flatties which will be out so pitcrewing will have to do in the short term. But...Two of my sisters finally made it to the track last weekend, during the Oxford Speedway NZ Youth Ministock Champs. Renee.....Uncle had finished the mighty Laser, so that she was able to race it on the Saturday of the Two day meet. From all accounts (as I was unable to make it on Saturday due to work commitments) it went Okish. she had a few issues I believe in race one with some gear selection probs, but it was sorted and she was able to get some more track time for the rest of the day. I'm sure she would like to thank Terry at EBS for the donation of the car, Uncle for building the car and a few others for their contribution...I will get her to write her own speel as soon as. May....Well the mouth of the south... (she can chew your ear off I tell ya lol )...finally made it to the track in her own car. Had an issue on day one with, ironically Rolly, rolling over top of her in one of the races. She didn't make the finals group but by all accounts it was a big ask as the car hadn't hit the track before the Saturday, so it was more a matter of being out there and competing. Therefore she raced Sunday in the Best of the Rest. Her racing went Ok and the car definitely seems to be coming together well. Race 3 of the day she even managed to come in 3rd, which was her best result (surprised she could get her head out of her helmet...the grin was that huge). Her thanks must go to Andrew and Faye for their efforts and also to her sponsors Kiwi Monograms and Beaurepaires (watch this space more to come (can't divulge to much at this stage..some secret squirrel stuff going on)....she made one of the local papers also) 02 May 2006 Alrighty, again nothing much to report...... Bones was around at the weekend to try and organise this steering setup.....well after much umming and arghing we made an executive decision to throw it out the window. What we were looking at doing was going to make a dodgy situation dodgier, but hey we gave it a go. So, one step forward, one step back. Have also purchased a mitzy truck to do the transporting. Has a bit of work to be done on it to make it legal again, but hey, its all just time.....and I have no idea what's going on, but the damn thing is green. If I left the stockie in its present colour scheme they would suit each other but.....nahhhh...its gotta change. As mentioned in my last update, two of my sisters were looking at getting into cars......guess what, they'll have cars on the track a lot quicker than I will. Renee has got hold of a wee Ford Laser to turn into a youth hobby. Its at Uncles being sorted. May has got possession of a ministock which Andrew and May are working hard out on, to try and get ready ASAP, so that she can have it ready for either the 21st of this month, or for the Youth Title being held at Oxford next month. Hopefully we can have them both hit the track at the same time, which would be pretty cool. We know mine won't be ready anytime soon, so I might have to spend some time in a ministock...after the title....god forbid I wreck something on it before then. I envisage the website having a bit of a revamp fairly soon to, to take into consideration the rest of the clan joining the ranks on the track....will give a bit more to update then if someone has actually been on the track. So keep an eye out for that. I will put some photo's up next update (cos the girls cars should be ready by then). So til next time....Happy off season
PS....If anyone wants to contribute to a new Rees chassis with a Hartley Holden V6 under the hood, I'd be more than willing to listen (any chassis with a holden V6??)...... haha...hey its 1.30am and I'm allowed to dream 02 April 2006 Well, latest is.... Firewall template slowly taking shape. Spent an hour or so today moving the steering rack which was sitting inside the cockpit, so it now sits in the engine bay (well all the bulky bits anyway). Compared to when I took possession of the old Screaming Eagle, you'd be suprised to see how much room there now is inside the cockpit. Still can't believe that Rob used to drive it, basically, with his knees round his ears :-). Oh well, still a little bit to adjust in the steering side of things but shouldn't be too far away. Also have possession of the firewall plate so we can sort that out soon to. Well the season is over for Woodford Glen, so now is really time to start getting in to the rebuild with a bit more gusto. Have also put my hand up and am spending a little bit of time with the Blythe racing team, stripping and sorting out THE MAD COW for next season, and no doubt THE SHAGUAR (whatever they tell me to do I do). Then there is Bones' car once he gets his hands on that, plus one of my sisters wants her own ministock and another has just got her hands on a car to race in the youth hobby grade, PLUS my uncle is rebuilding his A-grade Escort (to a Sierra)...hopefully his isn't to urgent cos I think I might end up being divorced before the second wedding anniversary, lol....anybody got a few extra days I can get my hands on each week???? Still looking for sponsors, so if anyone has some contacts, feel free to throw them my way. Have one in the pipeline, but as most know, will have to wait and see what becomes of it. So, til next time happy off season to those who have finished, and to those who haven't, keep safe. Will try and get a few progress photo's up next update (everytime I do something on the website myself, I have to get the designer to fix it for me :-(
chow 13 February 2006
Well since the last update back in November not a lot has happened. Racing wise...I raced my uncles saloon in Decemeber at the Oxford Speedway funday/prizegiving. First race didn't go to well. I was racing with the b-grade saloons (productions), the car didn't seem to be running to well, so after slowly going backwards in the field, and not really wanting to do any damage to the engine I pulled to the infield and watched the last few laps from there. Race two, went better (turns out nothing wrong with the car just the driver being a bit fussy), made my way to the front pretty quick, and managed to stay there for the entire race. The only pressure coming from Michael Read in one of the flying mitzis. The track though suited my car as I placed myself on the poleline, giving him only one option...to go to the outside, which he didn't do. So good to have a win, probably be the last one for a very long time so I'd better savour the moment. lol. As to the stockie?...Had Bones round on Saturday, and things don't look as major as I was thinking (says the man who can't weld, and has no idea what most of the parts on the car are called). Have taken delivery of the steel to replace the bumpers and siderails etc. That has all been cut to size ready for attachment. Now just have to link the borrowed mig with the welder and we'll be making some progress. The steps after that are to put in a drop floor in it, as it doesn't have one at present, and I'm not to keen on racing with my knees round my ears. Then a firewall to strap the ea and hq together, then astrip down and waterblast, paintjob, put everything back together then it will be time to go racing. Have really got itchy feet so really looking forward to it. Looks like there is being a good push to get Stockcars in at the Glen, still in its early days as it has to go to the agm etc, but will be good for the grade if it goes ahead. Need to thank so far Craig for his input (and a bit of an action plan), and Neil for the use of the mig when I go and steal it fom his garage. So, til next time which hopefully won't be to far away, happy racing.
To be honest at this stage there will not be a lot of input on this website, apart from when things are actually happening in the garage or I get a spin in my Uncles saloon. The stockcar at this stage is about to begin a long rebuild period. Hopefully the long period will only be about 12 months (aiming for next season at the glen with a few months of trial and error at the federation tracks prior to), but that will depend on finances. So therefore if you are keen to get your name on the side of a stockcar please click on the contact email at the bottom of this page, and we can talk some more. More serious data etc will be added to the appropriate pages when we have them sorted, but at this stage a few of the pages have been set up for appearance sake (and the fact that the website designer I am sure wanted to poke a bit of fun at me....I guess she might as well when she has the chance :P )o Newsletter - 06 November 2005 There once was an idiot called Michael McLeod who brought a stockcar. This was a life time dream of his. Unfortunately this stockcar dream was a long project in the making. Michael decided that his car would be tiger gold and grey but before the outside could be painted etc he had to purchase a motor!!! Yes this stockcar was not going to get far being a flintstone car. Maybe he could come around to the Cherry's House and race Jamal on his ride on tractor. Rachel, Michaels lovely wife was very supportive saying Michael could buy a stereo for the garage so he would not feel so lonely working on his car while she took the family credit card shopping. As you can see by the photos this car does have heaps of potential and with a little money behind him through sponsorship we will all be lined up supporting Michael at the races. Good luck Michael with your dream of getting your stockcar to the races. We hope you do well. Stay safe and remember to wear protective clothing and hat :) |
Race Update from Oxford Speedway Funday. Only two rounds each for today, as it was the season ending funday. Renee 51ox Hobbie Saloon: First round out in the Youth Hobbies, Renee managed a first (see the proof ---> ) Second round....Supposed to be out in May's minstock, see further down for why not. She did then however have another un in her car, coming in 2nd. Renee also managed to finish third in the season points standing. Hopefully we will see a few more cars out next season to give everyone in the grade some more opposition. A grade in its formative period, but great for the kids anyway. (Roll on the signage aye Renee, a bit of colour into the ol' ford) May 55ox Youth Ministock: (This is going off my poor memory, as May has desserted us and headed south, to Cromwell to work over the Xmas perod.) First round, she was out in the ministock. No idea where she started, and no idea where she finshed for the race lol. But, the car came back in one piece, which was great. Second Race, May actually headed out in Renee's Hobbie saloon...... They had made a pact the previous month to have a run in each others cars. Seemed to go ok, but don't think she is to keen on the saloon, enjoying her ministock a bit more (to much room in the cockpit she reckons)....Not youth hobbies but, Adult hobbies. (Gee where do we start with this one? Lots of little things to do, but a new body and bonnet, and a flash new paint job. (Thats why she's in Cromwell earning money, aye May!?!)) Mike 33c Stockcar: This is where it starts getting messy....gulp. First round........I'm in the ministock by the way.... Started mid to rear of the pack, raced up to be towards the front of the pack, by the end of the race. Nothing great but in the top 10. Fun day so not real major. Second round.....gulp...ever had two 16 year old girls getting right snarky?....Well I did lol...Was having a good old run through the pack, managing to give Ben Jacobs a right royal serve up the backside a couple of times as he was toying with another car. I couldn't be bothered going round so just went through. Ended up finishing 5th, which was pretty good, so really looking forward to running the ministock in the adult grade next season, while the stockcar build continues....... Then, came back in and Uncle decides that it might be a good idea to throw some water the radiator way as its a bit warm.....so filling her up and hmmm seems to be a lot of water coming out the bottom of the radiator???!!! On closer inspection, its found that I've put the fan through the radiator, not good from my understanding lol. And to top it off, Ive broken one of the wire strop mounts, which is probably why the fan and radiator have meet.....whoops. Ok, that's the end of the day for the ministock, as it is only fun day.........Didn't go down well to begin with, with May, don't think I was favourite big Bro for a bit there. That ended Renee's chances of running the ministock on the day also. (Me? Still lots of money to find and time to spend in the garage. Can't have May beating me to the Glen!!!) But all in all a fun day....for me anyway lol. Roll on next season. As mentioned earlier, May has headed south to Cromwell to work and to hopefully get some racing in, if her car passes greensheeting. There is the two day affair in Cromwell, and also the NZ Superstock Champs in Dunedin. So it could be quite a busy affair for the Maverick Racing Team, as Renee and I are crewing for the Blyth Racing Team....May wasn't originally running at Dunners, so fingers crossed all goes well. Thanks again to Craig and Steve for taking the car down this week, as I'm sure May appreciates it. So hopefully we will have a few race reports from May in the next month or so. Hope all have had a Merry Xmas, and will have a great New Year. Till next year, have fun all, and keep safe. |
