Genesis 1:1-2; 31
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.
Psalm 89:11
The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all its fullness, You have founded them.
John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Acts 17:24-25
God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.
Isaiah 37:16
"O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
Hebrews 1:10
"In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
John 4:24
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
1 Cor. 2:9-10
But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
Eccles. 3:9-14
What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the God-given task he has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil--this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.
The theory of evolution has been a real red herring to cause people to dismiss the concept of a Creator. You may not realise that Darwin was a Christian and a missionary in South America, and was upset that atheists used his ideas. Even if you believe in evolution, it does not negate a Creator, it just puts creation on a longer and much more complex path. It could also cause doubt on some basic issues that are very important. So, if you would like to explore the issue more fully, may I recommend this website: Answers in Genesis
