The wreck was caused by stress of weather. There was no want of
care on the part of the master.

Remarks
She became a total wreck. Had the master used the lead from time
to time, he would have found that he was much nearer a lee-shore
than he imagined, and he might, perhaps, have been able to work
her off.

probability have been avoided.
