Welcome to

The World of  Erehwon

Welcome to Erehwon, a campaign world that I am creating for use with Dungeons & Dragons. This is very much work in progress but I will add to it as I when I can .

Erehwon is a world of adventure and intrigue; it is a world inhabited by elves, dwarves, centuars, orcs and other races that you'd expect to find in a fantasy role-playing campaign world. It is a world where humanity is on the ascent and where the time of the elder races is slowly but surely drawing to an end. It is a world where then eternal struggle of good vs evil continues, and it is a world where the actions of a few brave adventurers can change the course of history.

Although magic exists in Erehwon it is definitely a low-magic fantasy world. The level of mundane technology is similar to Earth in the Middle Ages (7th to 10th centuries). Few commoners, or nobles too for that matter, can read or write and most common folk never travel more than a few miles from their village or town. However, it differs from Earth in many ways. For instance dwarven and elven craftsmen can obtain skill levels far beyond those of mortal man and jealously guard their superior technologies. No human craftsmen has been able to discover the secret to forging suits of plate-mail or similar armours, whereas the dwarves have possessed this technology for several generations.

Campaigns: The Various AD&D and Castles and Crusades campaigns that have been played over the years.

A Players Guide to Erehwon: A guide to the World of Erehwon, the homebrewed campaign world that I have been using since 1986 and where most campaigns are now set.

Castles and Crusades House Rules: One of the things I like about Castles and Crusades is its simplicity and ability to tinker with and modify it to meet ones own gaming needs. Here are a few of the house rules that I have introduced to try and maintain that 1E feel.
