Tinka was bred by John Forbes of Baagna Basenjis in Australia. I wanted a nice little bitch to show and breed. Tinka made her trip across to New Zealand about 2 weeks before she was 4 months old. She's a real talker, and will tell stories to almost anyone who walks through the door! She's a real mum's girl and never strays far from my side at the dog park, or anywhere for that matter. Now and again she'll chase birds or my other Basenjis, but she quickly comes running back. This was certainly an advantage for when I took her along to Agility. Being such a mummy's girl, I knew she wouldn't run far away when she was let off lead. We went along to classes long enough to get up to Intermediate 2, but then she just didn't have the interest, so we stopped going. She did win a couple of ribbons for graduating top of her class, which was nice, but when it came to competing, she just wouldn't run. I'd love to know why! But we had our fun and met lots of new people and dogs while we were there. Tinka's breeding days are now over, after producing 3 litters. She is destined to be queen of the castle at Senjabi, a position which she relishes! |
