Who are the characters?

Alexander Dane: is a professor emeritus from Harvard University's Archaeology Department on permanent detached assignment to Egypt. His assignment is to guide post-graduate students in pursuit of doctoral degrees through a year of field work. He is currently taking his latest bunch of students en route to the Valley of Kings for their year-long internship, but things have gone wrong... very, very wrong... He is tall, handsome, with piercing hazel eyes, and does not suffer fools gladly when his ire is aroused.
Anne Trelawney: is a pupil at Remmington High, she's twelve and Ginny (or Virginia) and Mel are her best friends. Anne is quiet and studious but always ready for fun and loves midnight feasts. Ginny is the assertive one of the group, clever plus a brilliant actor and singer for her age. The 'Annie' type. Mel is warm, bubbly, friendly and boy-mad, and she seems to have fallen for Mr Gissing.
Anton Gruber: father of Hans Gruber and the C.E.O. of Gruber Glassworks. He is a more mature version of Hans with greying hair and a thicker accent. A widower with old world charm one look at him and it is clear from where Hans inherited much of his style and panache. In a family of tigers, Anton is the Siberian cat.
Caroline Deegan: is a widow and she is the head of art department at the school. Her best friend is the old English mistress who retired and Gissing has taken her place, so Caroline is not happy about that. She is also very upset about her dead husband and doesn't get along with her parents. She loves art of any kind and keeps a lot of paintings in her flat.
Chris: lives on Earth, about 90 years after the world's governments amalgamated into one world-wide federation. It's not going so well, the Earth is overcrowded and almost all land is covered by big buildings-blocks. Unemployment is high, although everyone is provided with clothing and food at subsistence-level. Anyone who can get a job is thankful, because it tends to mean slightly better living conditions. Chris is 5' 8 1/2", blonde, blue-eyed and lives in London-one big block where the city of London used to be. She has a mild telepathic talent, not strong enough to be a worry to the powers that be ("Them"), but strong enough to be a benefit with working with the equines.
Claudia: The Doctor first met Claudia when the Tardis materialised in her living room, and whisked her, her two children, and her art teacher Ed, off to adventure. Claudia is tall and blonde and has a thing about thigh high boots. She, Ed, and the Doctor have been through many adventures. She was working undercover as the Interrogator's assistant, and now is not sure whether she will be implicated as an accomplice in the Trial, or called to witness against HIM. Ed was badly hurt by her dedication to bring down the Interrogator. Ed and Claudia are no longer a couple, but are still armslength-friends.
Cynthia: Anton Gruber's right hand, she went to work for him several years ago after they shared an adventure together and became his personal assistant within the last year.
Diane: Diane is a sarcastic, witty, outgoing tall blonde young woman who is very opinionated and independent. She loves to argue, and is constantly ranting about something or other and will go on for hours if you let her. When she's not raving, she can be said to be strikingly pretty, especially her eyes, which change colours. She is an amateur journalist from San Francisco who grew up in LA and works for Ian but now finds herself in the Rutland Isles for a project for FoF. However, there are one or two things not mentioned in the contract...
David Friedman: (played by David Farrell) David Friedman, New Orleans PD, is the US's investigator of the murder of Dutch diamond merchant Marten Van Zandt. Friedman is played by David Farrell, Verity's co-star and university flatmate. David Farrell is another typecast actor, who Verity hopes will also garner a new career out of her venture. David Farrell
Ed is an artist, struggling to create something 'original', with the help of Claudia. He is tall gangly with a beard, and his dark blonde hair is getting longer. He has a good sense of humour, and is very sensible. He is also a genius when it comes to computers, and has saved Hans on several occasions: by deleting his criminal record around the world (now that took some doing); and decoding a critical disk in the goings on at the Hansbank, so saving the day.
Eamon "Dev" de Valera: is an Irish revolutionary and the future president of Ireland. Before he reaches that auspicious station, however, he's spending some time at Flights of Fancy, where he vows revenge upon The Interrogator for HIS kidnapping of Therese. Eamon has also forged a tenuous friendship with Colonel and Mrs. Brandon, and is the significant other to Therese. Dev and Therese do plan to marry, and, in fact, were on their way to find a priest when Therese was captured by HIM, which has temporarily put their nuptials on hold.
Elizabeth Kingston: is a petite red head with the cutest pixie hair cut you've ever seen and let's not forget the glasses. She is 5ft. 7in. tall and dresses  well sort of in a plain manner...aside from her socks,  which are always some random pattern or colour. She is very out going and very much in love with her husband Harry, though she hides that well at least she thinks she does. Elizabeth and Harry have a little Scottish Terrier named, Potter and they live in London.
Hamlet: has been living on a farm in what used to be Denmark, which was taken by Them and he was relocated to a Block. After a few months, he was offered the job of working with the equines. This tends to be a dangerous job, because they are capricious, short-tempered and have sharp horns and hard hooves. During the Testing, he showed no telepathic ability at all, but eager to get away from the Blocks and dwellies (people who dwell in the Blocks), he took the job. He is completely honest, which is a novelty on this overpopulated world.
Hans Anton Nietzche Dellbrook Gruber. A man who targets what he wants-and gets it. Drop dead handsome. Classically educated, he is as smart as the custom-made suits he wears. Methodical, meticulously groomed, and irresistible to some women. Deadly caresses are among his weapons.

After taking Mary Anne hostage, and handing her over to the Interrogator, (for which she has forgiven him) Hans has since channelled his considerable energies into capturing Renie's heart, re-entering her life (after an unusual first meeting) at the Almeida Wine Bar Party, wooing her at the Delaford picnic in the infamous South Rose Garden, grieving over her at her near-deaths (at the mini-mart, Safehouse #3, the Jeep accident, and the bella donna aftermath) and winning her hand on Egdon Heath.

On Christmas Eve 1997, he married her with the entire Realm in attendance, and with the hard-to-earn approval of Colonel Brandon, who had helped Renie in her bid to escape the cruelties of her then husband, the Interrogator. By Hans' arrangement, Brandon gave Renie away, in a gesture that symbolised their trust and acceptance of the past.

Once setting the standard for power and style in the world of high-end thievery, Hans is now a player and power-broker. He is "in charge" of the Hansbank at Nakatomi Plaza, Los Angeles, CA, a world-class financial institution with political ties. Ed is a great friend to Hans and Renie, and Hansbank has retained Sinclair and Colin. Hans is grateful to Jamie and the guys' for their help in the accessing the offices of Mr. I to rescue Renie. Hans' hijinx-based friendship (they planted "detonators" in the Heathrow airport which turned out to be drinks) with the Sheriff of Nottingham has been strained since, in George's words, "You've gone over for a woman!" Hans has not lost touch with his prior unsavoury contacts and associates, however, which helped him crack the cloning conspiracy the morning of his wedding, putting Lukas Hart III in jail. Perhaps most unsavoury to Hans, second only to Mr. I, is the Vicomte de Valmont, who was foolish enough to slander Renie's reputation at the Egdon Celebration. The ensuing duel ended with no loss of life, thanks to Mary Anne.

Hans is the eldest son of widowed Hans Anton Gruber Sr., renowned collector and owner of the massive Gruber Glassworks. Hans has two brothers, Simon and Peter.

Harry Kingston: is well, we know what he looks like now don't we! He is still very unsure of himself or where his marriage is going with Elizabeth, he hopes to win her heart and her trust once again, and hopes this storyline they are acting in will help him with that. The fact that Elizabeth hasn't kicked him out also gives him hope.
Ian: Ian is a man of business with a naughty sense of humour. Up until recently he ran and was the editor of a magazine in San Francisco called "The Gate" until basically all of his employees left him. Just when he was left with having to close the gate, he met Diane, a hilariously funny girl in her early 20s whom he took an instant liking to, so he hired her. However, that was a long while ago, and now Ian finds himself in the middle of a 498,000 archipelago of islands. And that's not the only thing he's in the middle of, manner of speaking...
The Interrogator:
Jamie: There is not much to be said about Jamie. He is a very mysterious type of person who only speaks when he feels like it, and chooses his words carefully. He is not a very sociable type, and prefers to be kept alone in solitude where he can think over his hundreds of mental notes. He never tells anyone of his past, nor his personal life, and no one really argues with him because he always carries a silver pistol. But inside his shadowy figure he is a man of honour and manners, and is very deeply caring to those who mean something to him.
Joe: Simple as scales and fins, Joe is a fish, and was *caught* by Jamie one evening as the FoF crew was cruising on a yacht for the 2002 Anniversary Party. He was taken captive and put into a bucket with a lid on top and is praying that he will not become sushi.
John Gissing: is the new experienced English master at Remmington High School and he's doing well so far! He's one of the main characters in the story. John is attractive, perhaps a little more untidy than the average teacher but a very good one. Soon he has the entire school (including staff!) under his spell.
Lukas Hart III: is a master manipulator of people and money. Skilled at evasion, he escaped prosecution for his fraudulent business dealings until his greed led him to an aborted attempt to manipulate global markets through the Hansbank. In a plea bargain to avoid a long prison term and the forfeit of his considerable wealth, Hart agreed to cooperate with prosecutors and is now the mastermind of a government-sponsored sting operation in Los Angeles. Hart is an enigma. Not even his faithful driver and right hand man, Beta, can claim to understand him.
Mary Anne: tall, willowy, blonde, face of an angel, heart of mischief. She is married to Colonel Christopher Brandon. Trouble is, the Interrogator keeps mucking things up for them. She has also, apparently, been on holiday with the Doctor at some Time in the past/future.
Maureen: has dark, slightly wavy hair that falls midway down her back. She loves to wear long, ankle-length gowns - tasteful, but simple. Her favourite shoes are ballet slippers. She's owns a few pairs in a variety of pastel shades.  Maureen is married to a tall, handsome, and brave Prince she met at a medieval dinner at a neighbouring castle. On clear starry nights, they dance to the song "If" by Bread. As the music ends, they fly among the planets and stars.
Nigel: Nigel Spasm considers himself to be the only living authority on the Rutland Isles, a chain of masonic islands. He was the first person to discover these islands and actually come back alive from them and not have totally lost his mind. Now he once again is returning to these charming isles along with two crazy Americans and a shady Brit and is acting as their tour guide and leader. Nigel may seem and likes to think he knows what he is talking about one hundred percent of the time, but sometimes he really has no clue whatsoever and would rather dish out orders and directions instead.
Renie: is tall and has long dark hair, and green eyes. She has a very sordid past. She was once married to the Interrogator, and had a son with him, who sadly died. She married Hans Gruber, ex-terrorist, now millionaire banker on Christmas Eve 1997.
Therese: was an American exchange student at the University of Maynooth in Ireland, when a flatmate convinced her to go and listen to a captivating political speaker, who just happened to be Eamon de Valera. She was immediately won over by the man, and his devotion to his cause, and they found in one another a powerful love. Both Dev and Therese are possessed of volatile temperaments, so their relationship is sometimes a fiery one. However, their devotion to one another is never in question. The actors who portray these two roles are an item off set as well as on (though don't tell The Director, as he frowns upon this--much good that does him!)
Verity Lavelle: (played by Verity Lawrence) Verity Lavelle, Interpol, is the EU's investigator of the murder of Dutch diamond merchant Marten Van Zandt. Lavelle is played by Verity Lawrence -- "Britain's Meg Ryan." Tired of that nickname and feeling middle age breathing down on her career, Verity decided to make a bold change. Using monies from her American films, she's funding her own storyline at Flights of Fancy.
