Who's Who in Flights of Fancy?

Who works behind the scenes?

Barbara: has always considered herself painfully average. Her hair is brown, with red, blonde, black and, yes, even a few grey, threads in it. Her eyes are "Caucasian," containing every colour except violet. A set designer who's worked quietly for FoF for a few years, she never really put herself forward. With her American father and English mother, she sounds like a British actor trying to play an American character. Barbara
Cindie: Behind the scenes, Cindie is the Director's assistant. She lives in a flat in London and her across the hall neighbour is Chandos and his beloved Alsatian, Rafter.
George Nott: is a moody, belligerent, intelligent, tactless, amoral man who happens to be a pretty good actor. As one of the few actors currently working in England who actually paid attention in sword-fighting class, he performs almost exclusively in historical costume films set in the Middle Ages; there was however that pirate movie where he insisted on a stunt double. He can also lay claim to discovering actress and co-star Joya Clifford whose magnificent talents were immediately apparent the first time he laid eyes on them - er, on her. George is devoted to acting as he feels it is the best way to avoid actually working while being able to afford the cars, wines and clothing that he favours.
Joya Clifford: is a charming, friendly, intelligent, generous young woman who comes from a noble English family, descended from one of the Norman lords who came over with William the Conquerer. A modicum of talent coupled with a wonderful instinct for comedy persuaded the Director to see if she could partner George Nott in a movie or if she would join the ranks of the many actresses who'd sworn never to work with him again. To almost everyone's amazement, Joya is a steadying and calming influence on George and she has thus become his co-star-for-life both on and off the set. The Director has been heard to declare that Joya's beauty is matched only by her patience with George, for which the Studio audiences and the Studio investors are all grateful.
Mistral: The actor who plays the Interrogator. His full name is Arthur S.P. Mistral, but is known simply as Mistral. He plays his personal life close to the vest even down to his full name but is opening up to the Director's assistant, Cindie.
Phil: is an expert hairdresser recently hired by FoF. His ex-wife Shelley passed away three years ago from cancer, after finally reconciling with Phil after a 10-year estrangement. He still keeps in touch with his son, Brian (who still lives in Keighley), and Shelley's companion Sandra (who's moved to the States). Phil has spent the last 3 years re-learning how to open up to life.
Sandy: is "an ex-computer geek" that was hired to write [or would torture be a better word in this case?] Alexander's storyline. She is 5'1", with short medium-blonde hair and blue-grey eyes. Blessed [or cursed] with a wicked sense of humour, she likes to tease Alexander by singing the "Galaxy Quest" theme song to him when he gets on his high horse. She is also extremely fond of coffee and chocolate.

Who are the Animals?

Ki'li is an equine mare, 10 years old. The equines are similar to the mythical unicorn, and some were captured by accident some 50 years ago. No one knew that they existed before then, and no one knows where they come from. They have been notoriously difficult to keep in captivity, and Ki'li is the first captive-bred equine. She is a pure black, with no white markings, and has a ruby-like horn and hooves.
Oliver: ("Ollie") is a 15 pound black miniature poodle who thinks that he's a much bigger dog than he actually is. Extremely friendly, adorably cute (and knows it), a little too smart for his own good, and a master of mooching for treats, Ollie is Sandy's canine companion in crime and often accompanies his human to the set. His favourite hobbies are running after tennis balls and not returning them to his owner (said owner often ends up chasing Ollie), chasing squirrels and birds, long walks, naps, and sucking up to people to get as much attention as possible.

In real life, Ollie lives the life of Riley at his home in Massachusetts, where he gets to chase all types of wildlife and tennis balls - which he doesn't return as a rule, run, play, suck up all kinds of attention, and act as the official greeter of the household when company comes over.

Tory: is a spoiled rotten German Shepherd (or Alsatian, if you prefer) who is the companion and body guard to Therese. She is, for the most part, extremely well behaved, and secretly spoiled by most of the cast, especially Mary Anne. Her one flaw is weighing in at six stone, yet feeling confident that she is a lap dog.
Zi'el: is an equine stallion. He is approximately 60 years old, having been quite young when they were caught. He is huge, and pure white, almost silver, with a gold horn and hooves. He has little understanding for humans, and tends to be impatient with others.
