Scary Dreams

All pieces are jumbled

running through dark alleyways

hearts pounding like feet

don’t let them catch me tonight.

No time for children, who get in your way

snarl at you, make you jump

holding on to her hand, blonde hair

protecting you by knowing who is good.

Play to them, make them smile

music you thought could not happen

feel the pain as the rocks hit

love is blind to those with no eyes.

Who wants to possess me, things

hide them, yourself, being only as one

follow the light beyond weakness

to stay still, be trapped, just go.

Nightmares end as they started

minds clean or corrupted

hold out your hand, be taken away

only then, you will know, for your self.
