What happens when the lights go out and your world goes black and white ?

They speed off up the Kings Road, laughing their heads off. The music is loud and the smell of that leather interior and mahogany dash are driving them wild. The needle touches 65mph as they run an orange light. Then 67,68,then 70mph - wham! For a second, everything goes dark, quiet. They are numb. What is it? Then there is a noise like a ball rumbling down a chute.

Everything is light again, but it is different. No colour. A clown cartwheels along the street. An old man juggles while policemen dance in a doorway like the Four Tops.
