Letterboxing
What is Letterboxing?
A fun hobby involving craft, exercise, and brain power! To summarise quickly, you follow clues and hike around to find a hidden box. In the box you will find a rubber stamp to stamp your notebook and prove you found the box. In turn, you stamp your own stamp into the notebook that is kept in the box. How I got involved
I became interested in letterboxing in 2003 after coming across mention of it on a website. However, I quickly discovered that there wasn't any local activity in Wellington, New Zealand and I forgot about it all. Fast forward to August 2004. I noticed a girl asking for carving tips for a letterbox stamp on a craft website. My interest was piqued again. This time, I discovered that there were now boxes out there in the region, placed by "Psychokiwi", a couple recently returned from the United States. Wow - now was my big chance to get into it!
