Background, March 2003

Hello!

My name is Chaucey and I am 24 and live in Wellington, New Zealand with my partner Michael. I've decided that I want to keep a diary of my relationship with Michael and how our plans progress. I think that this will help sort out all the ideas in my head for when our big day comes along.

Well, it was only 6 months ago when I started dating Michael. Here is a timeline of what happened:

Pre August 2001 - corresponded with Michael on work related matters in fault logs, emails, and phone calls.
August/September 2001 - Met Michael at a party in Annabel Youngs office in Parliament, kept in touch by loaning him the Harry Potter series of books.
28 September 2001 - Attended Michaels Leaving drinks at National Bank
8 October 2001 - Went on a dinner date together to Bellamys Restaurant at Parliament
22nd August 2002 - Re-met Michael at "The Battle of the Brains" for Daffodil day.
25th August 2002 - Went on a date on Sunday afternoon
24th September 2002 - Michael invited me to join him on his holiday to Melbourne
23rd October 2002 - Decided to live together and to sell Michaels home
29th October 2002 - Declared our love for each other on a rainy evening in the car looking at the harbour from Wadestown
23rd November 2002 - Traveled to Melbourne for a week long holiday together
6th December 2002 - Officially co-owners of our property in South Karori Road, and drafting lots of other legal paperwork that names us as defacto partners

Since then we've had lots of discussions to sound each other out about how we feel long-term about each other. Importantly, at Michaels suggestion we have started saving money for our wedding - which at this stage looks like it might cost a bit!

In my next edition I will talk about what ideas I've had for our wedding.
