April 3rd 2005 - 6 weeks to go

Hello,

We've got all the major things sorted now I think. The only thing that is weighing on my mind is to suss out the music for the organist. But I've finally booked the florist, firmed up the menu for the golf club, sent all the invitations etc.. We've even gotten the Marriage License now.

Slowly we are getting RSVP's in. I imagine we'll have a deluge nearer to the RSVP date of Anzac Weekend. Most people thought the invitations were funny so that is good. We kind of rushed making them so they could have been better, but it was just nice to get them out of the way. I've had quite a few people asking about present suggestions - which was unexpected really. We didn't arraneg a wedding register because we don't need any of the traditional wedding gift type presents.

A big thing off my mind is having arranged some house-sitters finally. We've got a young American couple who are travelling around New Zealand and are working in my building at work. Although I don't know them very well they do seem trustworthy and normal. Now I'll have to write up a big list for them of how everything in our home works.

The boys have got their suits sorted out. Finally, the girls have got their dresses. We ended up buying some gowns off the rack - so that meant no more fights about fabric colour...but it didn mean a compromise, so the gowns are red...Not my first choice but it does look really lovely on the girls. I've seen the dress on Penny, but I have only seen a txtphoto of Cassy in her dress. My dress is coming along. Mum has a project plan complete with timeline line - she is so organised! Here's a sneak preview of the applique and beading she is doing:

I've also finally organised necklaces for the girls. Large creamy freshwater pearl pendants. I bought them from a jewellery boutique in Queen Vic Markets when we popped over to sydney on an Airpoints holiday. The holiday was also a valuable experience in learning best how to pack for the honeymoon. I managed to keep myself to 10kg at the airport scale, although Michael didn't do so well! (that's a first!!)

My Green dress for the party arrived and is beautiful and fits nicely. I just have to arrange to get the hem taken up. The hoop skirt arrived too - it is WAY poofy - yay! Luckily it is also adjustable, so that means I can tone it down a wee bit! I was also trying to decide what to wear for my kitchen tea - and I think I have it sussed now, an ivory crinkle blouse with a high neck which I bought at the ezibuy sale. Not sure about the bottom half yet. Having an ivory top on will make the make-up trial scheduled for that day more realistic.

The kitchen tea sounds like it is progressing well. It is hard leaving the organisation to other people, although of course I trust the girls! Hopefully there will be games and nibbles and I know we're having the prenzels person over to present a liquer tasting for us, I've been to a couple of Prenzels parties before and they've always been fun. I imagine it'll just be a small group of guests seeing as it is a long weekend and people like to travel. Please let me know if you wanted an invitation and haven't received one.

I got a lovely email the other day from a reader of my wedding website: "Wow! You sound like you’ve been very busy! A friend passed a link onto me about your website, she said she was addicted to reading about your plans and so I read and am hooked! All the best for the month and a half ahead for you, sounds like you have everything well planned anyway!". Isn't that sweet?

Here's a piccy of the cars that the car place we have booked provide. We're just getting one chauffered car and the boys will go in a rental car instead. The guy at Aristocrat cars seems really nice and he has very reasonable prices.

I guess that is it from me at the moment. I'll see you at the Kitchen tea or the wedding itself.
Love,

Chaucey
