Only 4 sleeps to go now. I'm off on leave from work now. Of course, they had to give me a little send off with balloons and sparkly bits all over my desk. I also got a MONSTER sized card from them, complete with funny jokes.
Michaels Stag night went well. Andrew and Nathan organised a fun night out including ten pin bowling, dinner at the Speights Ale House, and then out to some night clubs. Michael was a very tired boy when I picked him up at 1:30am. I've received some photos now and they certainly show that a fun time was had by all. Michael had to wear a special dreadlocks wig for the night. Michael is also having a special send off from work tonight.
I asked Ollie, my little 9 year old brother, to help me out by being a bubble blower outside the church after the service. He was excited that he'd been given this "very important" job. I found some cute wedding cake shaped bubble bottles at Evans'. I'm glad he'll be involved as he's probably going to find the service very dull. Hopefully we'll also have someone to hand out our Order of service sheets which I finally finished designing and printing
We firmed up our music choices for the ceremony and have managed to avoid any cringe-inducing "Here comes the bride" or anything like that. The organist has specially learnt a saint-saens piece for us. Gerard, Michaels dad, has agreed to do the reading.
I'm fully into a beauty regime now, and I've managed to grow my nails long-ish, so perhaps I won't even need to wear the fake nails I bought "just in case". Michael has been looking after his nails too, which I thought was sweet. He's finally had his haircut too. Today I was off at the dentist getting a clean and polish.

My mother has made some bows for the pews at the church. She really enjoyed making them and is thinking of going into business even. She is very clever with her sewing and I am always impressed with her patience and creativity. The dress is stunning and I'm so happy with it. Mum has put some beautiful details into it, 1700 pearl beads and sequins, applique, a blue message beaded into the lining, 12 pieces of boning.... I had a try on on last Saturday, complete with my veil and I felt very pleased, relieved, bridal, pretty. So all my attire is completed - yay! We've also picked out presents for the groomsmen, done most of our honeymoon purchasing, so it is all falling into place now. I saw Penny wearing her complete outfit, with the jewellery and the furry black wrap I impulse purchased as a gift. She looked great. I think Cassy will also look fabulous. |
We had a morning tea at Bernedettes house on Saturday. She hosted it in honour of our wedding. It was lovely to be the center of attention and feel honoured and spoilt. The food was very good, lots of sandwiches, eclairs etc.. yummm.
After I double check with all the vendors I will be able to concentrate on packing for the honeymoon. There is always a few more little things to do it seems. Tommorrow the task is taking the cats to the vet to get their shots sothat they stay nice and healthy for the house sitters. I also have to get spare keys cut, buy a bulk load of cat food...
Liz and Stephen, my Father, Gerard and Jeanne all arrive on Thursday, so we're going to busy at the airport! Ginny has already arrived, as have Richard and Jacque. I think Matthew is arriving down from Palmy on Thursday or Friday. I can't remember the date of when Joan is arriving, but I think Mum has all the details.
I hope I can do another update before the big day. And remember to check here afterwards for photos and my diary of the day!
Love,
Chaucey
