The engagement party invitations have all been sent out. It took a while to make them and they ended up costing over the original budget, but I've had some lovely compliments about them. Cassy helped me out a bit with the double sided tape and did an awesome job. They are made with a pearlescent paper inside a red card cover which folds in. They have a gold heart sticker to seal them and we used pearlescent envelopes.

I've got RSVPs back from around 60 people, with maybe another 40ish to come back in. They are trickling in. The due date was yesterday so hopefully people will hurry up.
Michaels father Gerard is able to come along all the way from Dunedin so that is lovely news. We've also had some beautifully presented RSVP's, posh paper and kind words etc... The majority have been by email and we've even had two text message ones!
Today I went shopping with my mother and we purchased/ordered the fabrics that we need to make my wedding dress. We found some beautiful and good quality stuff, all from Evans's in Lower Hutt. We chose ivory satin and chiffon, and found some very pretty embroidered fabric which we will cut up to sew on to the dress. I'm really happy that mum is making the dress as I know she will do an awesome job.
Also today Michael and I attended the wedding of our friends Tim and Sela. It was a lovely personalised and imtimate service and the bride and groom looked very happy and almost awed!
We are still looking at wedding reception venues seeing as the Grand Hall doesn't look possible anymore. I'm going to make an appointment to check out The Pines and Trentham Gardens. Liz Fong is researching The Pines for her sister so she'll let me know soon what she thinks.
Just a few weeks ago we were holidaying in Australia. We stayed with my grandparents Dave and Ginny overnight and they gave me an heirloom wedding band. I've already got my wedding band sorted, so I might have this one remade into an eternity band for later....not really sure how easy that will be to arrange. It is a really special thing though.
We've decided to go with Andrew Keedwell for the photography. Also, we are going to meet up with a videographer soon (when I've got time to plan stuff), Bob Toulis. I'll look forward to seeing you all in two weeks time at the Engagement Party!!
Love,
Chaucey
