A Black Country Boy in New Zealand.
I am researching in the Midlands area in Staffs, Worcs and a main branch of the HALL family in Warwickshire.
In particular:
- HARTWELL...This name appears almost entirely in Warwickshire villages from Stockingford and Arley and down as far as Stratford on Avon. I have a spread sheet with some 412 Hartwell members dating back to 1600. This info was taken from the IGI listings at the LDS Family history centre. I have also researched much of the Census for these areas. My data is far from complete but if anyone is involved with Hartwell links I would be pleased to hear from you.
- HALL...Married Hartwells' from Stockingford. The main links I have reached are based in Smethwick, Kings Norton, Harbourne, Norton Lindsay. Such names as JOHN HENRY HALL, THOMAS WILLIAM HALL, WILLIAM HALL.
William married MARY ANN BUSBY in Norton Lindsey he died in 1860. I don't know where he was born. - GUY.... Christian name JABEZ who married ANN MARIA CROOKS Jabez was born in Little Brickhill, Buckinghamshire.. They had a daughter SARAH ANN GUY born 1871 in SMETHWICK.
- EDGE... JOSEPH HINGLEY EDGE arrived in New Zealand via Australia about 1908. He was born in Haden Cross, Rowley Regis.
- FOXALL...EDGE....BARNSLEY...DAVIS...HOMER...Mostly they were 'Gun barrel grinders/makers, Chain makers etc.
