| An unusual feature of this motor is the bell, which is made of aluminium only. There is no iron ring to complete the magnetic path. Despite this, it still manages to achieve good power output and better efficiency than some other outrunners of similar size and cost. Apparently, back-iron is not required when the magnets are curved and have 100% coverage. |
