Our relationship to the Initiatives

Think of us as a hatchery. Think of us as a nest. Think of us as a foundation. Think of us as a courtyard. Think of us as an embassy. Think of us as a marketplace, a marae, or a café on the square. Think of us as a people who make things happen. When we say "us" we include you. We mean "all of us"

For initiatives to transform from vision to reality, the individual is most important. A person who can conceive of a vision, can hold and sustain it, can achieve it. But too often such a person is good at holding and advancing the vision, but not securing the required resources, be it infrastructure or essential funding.

We provide the sheltering infrastructure. On a physical level, we have built a meeting place with board room seating, workshops, large-group hall and guest house, all in a spectacular setting on Auckland's Waiheke Island. At the legal foundation level, we have a non-profit charter document prepared, pro-bono by the top law firm in New Zealand that incorporates a broadly defined set of purposes approved by the IRD. We have instituted accounting practices which subscribe to the highest level of fiduciary probity.

We are not endowed with gifted funds, although this may come in time. Often we are the conduit between the funding sources and the initiative. However, we do more. We
weave. We listen, we initiate lateral thinking, we formulate practical business plans, we attract support, we identify strength and weakness, we nurture, we push.  We stand outside religious, political or economic affiliation. We enjoy what we do.
