Welcome to web site of Renaissance Aotearoa Foundation, a New Zealand IRD approved charitable trust.  We focus on creating practical and accessible tools and systems to enable people to improve local quality of life. We are known for our toka brick (aka earth brick or adobe) buildings on Waiheke Island, but our work focuses on a larger picture… enabling people to design and build their own villages, local economies and sustainable housing. Each component, including the toka brick houses, challenges us to organise the work much like a franchise does, only we do it for social, cultural and environmental reasons, not for profit.  Our role is to enable people, and to ask them to then enable others.  Enjoy looking at our information.
