Hi Pakuranga Toastmasters

We had a good meeting on Monday night. As we had a number of apologies, to keep you all in touch here are some snippets:

- Allan Bentley gave his icebreaker speech – very interesting and humorous – best speaker of the night.

- Edwin’s table topic ‘was rather different a gabble in another language’ - and a laugh – and the best table topic!

- Two new members were welcomed – Steven Ying and Vivien Ke.

- Lance Clark our Area Governor and his wife visited – Lance spoke and he was also the Master Evaluator – helpful tips for the Club

- We presented Competent Communicator certificate to Melanie Cornish – congratulations.

WHAT’S COMING UP

- Officer Training – This Saturday 25th July  9am – 1pm  Nixon Hall, Sale Street , Howick – Executive Attending – all members welcome to attend.

- Club Competitions – 17 August – a number have indicated they would like to compete for each competition – that’s great.

- Speech craft - Held at Selwyn College commencing Tuesday 28th July. 
Thanks to Jan, Manissha, Kaushal and Simon for offering to help. 
If you are able to assist for 1 or 2 nights on a Tuesday night (8 week course) please let me know.

Lastly Jan is our chairman for the next meeting on the 3rd August. 
As we all know the Chairman and Toastmaster do a lot of work behind the scenes before the meeting. 
Please remember to clear your emails regularly to assist them with the meeting planning.
