What a meeting we had on 12 June.

The theme was the World Cup, specifically the 1966 English team vs the 1974 German Team.
Attendance was poor at only 12, but that could have been because of the power cut.

The Swiss Ref (Alun Chisholm) kept control of the meeting, in his own officious style.

Uwe Seeler (David Parker) said in his invocation,
"football is not a matter of life and death, it's much more important than that."

Bobby Charlton (Jan Blyde) - now she did come in theme, she had boots and everything.
And gave us the word of the night "Pride".

The prepared speeches were introduced by Franz Beckenbauer (Chris Alcott),
and were given by Uwe Seeler (David Parker) who spoke about the purpose of insurance,
and then Gerd Muller (Yvonne Boersma), who talked about a walk in the country, more specifically the Tongarero Crossing.

Evaluators were Geoff Hurst (Manissa Allabadi) - once we had explained who Geoff Hurst was, and Bobby Charlton (Jan Blyde).

The Half Time break was handled by Alan Ball (Ilona Bors) and Karl-Heinz Rummenger (Simon Morley).

Table topics were introduced by Paul Breitner (David Aiken), who tried to stick to the theme, but slipped into the oval ball game.
They were evaluated by Alan Ball (Ilona Bors) anc Uwe Seeler (David Parker)

Into extra time, we had reports from; Grammarian Bobby Charlton (Jan Blyde),
Um and Ah Counter Gerd Muller (Yvonne Boersma)
and Timer he Russian Linesman (Jessica Zhang) - who kept her eye on the stop watch - unlike in the 1966 final,
where the Russian Linesman said the ball has crossed the line proving that he needed glasses.

The General Evaluator Bobby Moore (John Whiteley) was sent off for arguing with the ref.

The meeting finished with a win 4-2 to Germany.
(Germany for the Cup).
